Answer

Open Outlook. Click on Tools and select Email Accounts. This starts the E-mail Accounts setup wizard.

Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next. Select POP3 type account and click Next. This opens the E-Mail Accounts dialog box.

Under User Information, enter your name in the Your Name field as you want it to appear in your emails and then enter the complete email address in the E-mail Address field.

Under Server Information, enter mail.yourdomain.com in both the Incoming and Outgoing mail server fields. For example, if your domain is widgets.net, you would enter mail.widgets.net in these fields.

Under Logon Information, enter your username (your complete email address, this may have automatically been entered by the wizard) and the assigned password.

Clear the check box for Log on using Secure Password Authentication, if it is checked. Click the More Settings button. This displays the Internet E-Mail Settings dialog box.

Click on the Outgoing Server tab and select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Click OK. This will save these settings and close the dialog box.

On the E-Mail Accounts dialog box, click the Test Account Settings button. If it completes successfully, click Next and then Finish. You have successfully set up your account.

However, if it did not complete successfully, go on to Troubleshooting below.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your test did not complete successfully, go back and check all your settings once again and make sure they match up with username (your complete email address), password, mail host name and settings. If these are correct, click on the More Settings button to open the Internet E-Mail Settings dialog box and go to the Advanced tab.

Sometimes ISPs will block the outgoing port 25 to prevent spammers from sending large amounts of mail through their system. Change the Outgoing server port to 2525 and click OK then retest your account to see if this fixes the connection problem.

If not, you may need to change the Outgoing Mail Server to your ISPs outgoing mail server before you will be able to use your Webmail account using Outlook.
